When Teams Need PCB Testing Services

Most PCB testing services are tied to large contract manufacturers with minimum volumes and long lead times. J-Tech LabWorks is built specifically for hardware teams that need fast, accurate results on prototypes, small batches, and field returns.

Board powers up but won't initialize
Field returns with no obvious failure mode
Works on the bench but fails under load
Intermittent issues that are hard to reproduce
I2C / SPI / UART communication problems
New prototype that needs safe first power-on
Noise or interference causing unexpected behavior
Boards that need repeatable validation across units
RMA pile with no time to investigate
NPI support when your team is stretched thin

PCB Testing Capabilities

Hands-on bench work across the full range of board-level testing and validation. Clear answers, documented results, and a path forward.

Bring-Up
PCB Bring-Up & Functional Validation
First power-on testing. Rail validation, current draw, peripheral init, reset sequencing, bus verification.
Investigation
Failure Analysis & Root Cause Reporting
Structured diagnostic process. Visual inspection, power-up characterization, signal capture, thermal imaging.
Instrumentation
Signal Integrity Testing
Oscilloscope capture, rise/fall time, overshoot, crosstalk. Clock signals, data lines, power rails.
Instrumentation
Power Integrity Testing
Rail noise, load transient response, sequencing verification. Thermal imaging for hot spots and current crowding.
Debug
Embedded Debug
J-Link debugger for SWD and JTAG targets. Step-through debug, register inspection, firmware validation.
Diagnosis
RMA Diagnosis
Field returns worked through structured diagnostics. Root cause documented with photos and recommended next steps.
Validation
Continuity & Shorts Testing
Board-level continuity, short circuit identification, net resistance measurement. Bare board and post-rework validation.
Rework
Post-Rework Validation
Boards validated after rework before returning to service. Confirms rework is correct and board passes functional test.
Support
NPI Support
Prototype bring-up through early production validation. Hands-on support when boards are newest and most likely to surprise.

Common Questions

Do you work with companies outside your area?

Yes. J-Tech LabWorks operates on a ship-in model and works with engineering teams nationwide. You ship hardware and documentation, we do the work, and results come back fast.

How does the ship-in model work?

You ship the hardware along with relevant documentation — schematics, complaint description, or test procedure for validation work. We perform the hands-on work and return results with clear documentation and photos.

Do you take small or rush jobs?

Yes — most small projects are completed in 1–3 business days. We'll confirm scope and timeline up front.

Will you sign an NDA?

Absolutely. We work NDA-friendly by default and can use your standard NDA or provide ours.

What information do you need to provide a quote?

A brief description of the board, the issue or test requirement, and any available schematics or drawings. The more context the better, but a quick description is enough to get started.

What Engineers Say

Jerry was a critical contributor during my time at Sleep Number, working in the R&D department. His attention to detail with test fixtures, ability to quickly assemble and bring up PCBAs, and troubleshoot PCBs in the prototype phase through to production was essential for the launch of the Climate 360 platform. His impact on the team and the pipeline project was a significant factor toward meeting the expected launch date and ensuring a smooth production run.
